Living a Fully Holy and Set-Apart Life Guided by the Holy Ghost: Embracing Complete Sanctification in Christ.

This study explores the biblical principles for living a life fully consecrated to God, empowered by His Spirit, and rooted in the revelation of His singular identity. We will delve into the foundational steps of salvation, the ongoing process of sanctification, and the empowerment for effective service and witness, all through the indwelling presence of the Holy Ghost.

1. Understanding the One True God and His Manifestation

1.1 The Deity of Jesus Christ

Verses: Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; John 14:9
  • Jesus is God manifested in the flesh, the visible expression of the invisible God.
  • He is the Word who was with God and was God, through whom all things were made.
  • To see Jesus is to see the Father, for all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him bodily.

1.2 God's Oneness and Singular Identity

Verses: Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; 1 Timothy 2:5
  • There is one Lord, one God, and He is unique in His being.
  • He is the only Savior, and beside Him there is no other God.
  • There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

1.3 The Holy Ghost as the Spirit of God/Christ

Verses: John 14:16-18; Romans 8:9-11; 2 Corinthians 3:17
  • The Holy Ghost is not a separate person but the Spirit of the one God, the Comforter sent by Jesus.
  • If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Him.
  • The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2. The Foundation of Salvation: Repentance, Baptism, and the Holy Ghost

2.1 Repentance and Conversion

Verses: Acts 2:38; Luke 13:3; Acts 3:19
  • Repentance is a change of mind and heart, turning away from sin towards God.
  • Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.
  • Repent and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.

2.2 Water Baptism in Jesus' Name

Verses: Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Colossians 2:12
  • Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is for the remission of sins.
  • Believers are baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
  • Through baptism, we are buried with Him and raised with Him through faith.

2.3 Receiving the Holy Ghost

Verses: Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 19:6
  • The Holy Ghost is a gift from God, empowering believers for holy living.
  • The initial evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
  • When Paul laid hands on them, the Holy Ghost came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

3. Walking in the Spirit: Daily Sanctification and Holy Living

3.1 Separation from the World

Verses: 2 Corinthians 6:17; Romans 12:2; James 4:4
  • Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.
  • Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
  • Friendship with the world is enmity with God; whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

3.2 Cultivating a Holy Lifestyle

Verses: 1 Peter 1:15-16; Hebrews 12:14; Ephesians 4:22-24
  • As He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct.
  • Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
  • Put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life, and put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

3.3 Overcoming Sin through the Spirit

Verses: Romans 8:13; Galatians 5:16; 1 John 3:9
  • If you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
  • Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
  • Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

3.4 The Role of Prayer and God's Word

Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:105
  • Pray without ceasing, maintaining constant communion with God.
  • Meditate on God's Word day and night to ensure prosperity and success.
  • Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, guiding us in holiness.

4. Empowerment for Service and Witness

4.1 The Holy Ghost as the Source of Power

Verses: Acts 1:8; Luke 24:49; Philippians 4:13
  • You shall receive power when the Holy Ghost has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me.
  • Tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.
  • I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, by His indwelling Spirit.

4.2 Spiritual Gifts for Edification

Verses: 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; Romans 12:6-8; Ephesians 4:11-12
  • There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit, given for the profit of all.
  • Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.
  • He gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry.

4.3 Living a Life of Witness

Verses: Matthew 5:16; 1 Peter 3:15; Mark 16:15
  • Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
  • Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you.
  • Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, empowered by the Spirit.
