1. The Revelation of God's Name

1.1 God's Self-Revelation in the Old Testament

  • God reveals Himself as 'I AM' to Moses, signifying His eternal existence.
  • Prophecies foretell God's coming as a child, mighty God, everlasting Father.

1.2 The Name Above Every Name

  • God has highly exalted Jesus and given Him the Name above all names.
  • Jesus' Name means 'Savior,' for He will save His people from their sins.

  • We are chosen vessels to bear His Name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.
  • We are blessed when we are reproached for the Name of Christ, for the Spirit of glory rests upon us.

4.2 Glorifying His Name

  • Whatever we do, whether in word or deed, we should do all to the glory of God.
