1. Understanding Faith

1.1 Faith Defined

  • Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
  • Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1.2 The Object of Our Faith

  • Our faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ, the one God manifested in flesh.
  • He is the author and finisher of our faith.

2. The Role of Works

2.1 Works Defined

  • Works are actions or deeds that demonstrate our faith.
  • Works are the outward expression of an inward transformation.

2.2 Works as Evidence of Faith

  • Faith without works is dead.

2.3 Works Do Not Earn Salvation
