Fear Ye Not Me? Saith the LORD:

1. The Singular Identity of the LORD

1.1 One God, One Name

  • There is no other God besides Him, nor any equal.
  • His name is singular and supreme above all.

1.2 The LORD as Creator and Sustainer

  • The one God created all things by Himself.
  • He holds all creation together by His mighty power.
  • His power and wisdom are eternally evident in His creative acts.

1.3 The LORD Manifest in Flesh

  • The mighty God, the everlasting Father, became flesh.
  • Jesus is the visible manifestation of the invisible God.
  • In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

2. The LORD's Unrivaled Power and Authority

2.1 Sovereignty Over All Creation

  • God's kingdom rules over all things and all beings.
  • He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth.
  • Nothing is outside of His divine control and purpose.

2.2 Power Over Life and Death

  • He alone has the power to give life and to take it away.
  • He determines the times and seasons of all humanity.
  • His word brings forth life and resurrection.

2.3 Authority to Judge

  • The LORD will judge the world in righteousness and equity.
  • All judgment has been committed to the Son, who is the Father revealed.
  • Every person will give an account to Him on the day of judgment.

3. The Call to Reverence and Obedience

3.1 The Meaning of 'Fear the LORD'

  • It is the beginning of wisdom and true knowledge.
  • It means to hate evil and depart from iniquity.
  • It involves keeping His commandments and living righteously.

3.2 Obedience as an Expression of Fear

  • To fear Him is to walk in His ways, to love Him, and to serve Him.
  • Obedience to God's voice is better than any sacrifice.

  • Those who fear Him lack no good thing.
  • They are blessed in all their ways and endeavors.
  • The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, leading away from the snares of death.
