1. Maintaining Eternal Focus

1.1 A Kingdom Perspective

  • Understand that earthly political systems are temporary and imperfect.

1.2 Prayer and Discernment

  • Pray for those in authority, regardless of political affiliation (1 Timothy 2:1-3).
  • Seek God's wisdom in understanding current events and our role in them (James 1:5).

2. Embracing Christ-like Conduct

2.1 Love and Respect

  • Love our neighbors as ourselves, even those with differing political views (Matthew 22:39).
  • Treat everyone with respect and dignity, reflecting the character of Christ (Romans 12:10).

2.2 Gracious Communication

  • Speak the truth in love, avoiding harsh or inflammatory language (Ephesians 4:15).
  • Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry (James 1:19).

2.3 Pursuing Peace

  • Seek reconciliation and unity, rather than division and conflict (Romans 12:18).
  • Forgive others as Christ has forgiven us, letting go of bitterness and resentment (Colossians 3:13).

3. Living Righteously

  • Stand for righteousness and justice, as defined by God's Word (Micah 6:8).
  • Advocate for the vulnerable and oppressed, reflecting God's compassion (Proverbs 31:8-9).

  • Engage in civic duties responsibly, such as voting and participating in community initiatives.
  • Be a light in the darkness, demonstrating God's love and truth in all areas of life (Matthew 5:16).

4. The Power of the Spirit

4.1 Unity in the Spirit

  • Remember that the Godhead is one indivisible Spirit manifested in various roles and expressions (Deuteronomy 6:4, 2 Corinthians 5:19).

4.2 Trusting God's Sovereignty
