Take the Limits Off: God Is Able

This study explores the boundless power and infinite ability of our God, encouraging us to remove self-imposed limitations and fully trust in His omnipotence. We will discover how the one true God, revealed in Jesus Christ, is capable of far more than we can imagine, working in and through us to accomplish His divine purposes.

1. Understanding the Nature of the Able God

1.1 The One True God of Infinite Power

  • There is only one God, the Creator of all things.
  • His power is absolute and without measure.
  • He is the sole source of all ability and strength.

1.2 God Revealed in Christ Jesus

  • The fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus is the visible manifestation of the invisible God.
  • Through Christ, we see God's power and ability made manifest.

1.3 The Spirit of God Within Us

  • The Holy Spirit is the very Spirit of God, dwelling in believers.
  • This indwelling Spirit empowers us to live supernaturally.
  • God's ability is accessed and activated through His Spirit in us.

2. God's Ability to Save and Transform

2.1 Able to Save Completely

  • God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ is perfect and complete.
  • He is able to deliver us from all sin and its consequences.
  • Salvation involves repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name, and receiving the Holy Spirit.

2.2 Able to Transform Lives

  • God's power can radically change hearts and minds.
  • He transforms us into new creations, conforming us to His image.
  • He is faithful to complete the good work He begins in us.

2.3 Able to Keep Us from Falling

  • God's grace and power are sufficient to sustain us in holiness.
  • He provides a way of escape from temptation.
  • We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

3. God's Ability to Provide and Sustain

3.1 God Our Unlimited Provider

  • God owns everything and has infinite resources.
  • He promises to meet all our needs according to His riches.
  • Seeking His kingdom first ensures His provision.

3.2 Sustaining Grace in Every Circumstance

Verses: 2 Corinthians 12:9; Isaiah 40:29-31; Lamentations 3:22-23
  • His grace is always sufficient, especially in weakness.
  • He renews our strength when we wait upon Him.
  • His mercies are new every morning, sustaining us daily.

3.3 More Than Enough

  • God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think.
  • He desires to give us life more abundantly.
  • He makes all grace abound toward us, so we always have enough for every good work.

4. God's Ability to Heal and Deliver

4.1 The Healer of All Maladies

  • God is Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals.
  • Healing is part of the atonement provided by Jesus.
  • He can heal all sicknesses and diseases, physical and emotional.

4.2 Deliverance from Oppression

  • Jesus came to set the captives free from all forms of bondage.
  • God's power breaks every chain of spiritual oppression.
  • We have spiritual weapons mighty through God to pull down strongholds.

4.3 Restoring What Was Lost

  • God is able to restore years that the enemy has stolen.
  • He can rebuild and repair what seems broken beyond repair.
  • He restores joy, peace, and the blessings of salvation.
