Spiritual Warfare
An outline for studying spiritual warfare.
1. Understanding the Enemy
1.1 Principalities and Powers
Verses: Ephesians 6:12
- Our struggle is not against flesh and blood.
- We wrestle against spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places.
1.2 The Deceiver
Verses: John 8:44; Revelation 12:9
- Satan is the father of lies and the great deceiver.
- He seeks to mislead and distort the truth about God.
1.3 The Adversary
Verses: 1 Peter 5:8
- The devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
- We must be alert and sober-minded.
2. Our Weapons of Warfare
2.1 The Armor of God
Verses: Ephesians 6:13-17
- We must put on the full armor of God to stand against the enemy's schemes.
- This includes the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the Spirit.
2.2 The Power of Prayer
Verses: 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
- Our weapons are not worldly but divinely powerful for destroying strongholds.
- We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.
2.3 The Blood of the Lamb
Verses: Revelation 12:11
- We overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
- We must not love our lives so much as to shrink from death.
3. Living in Victory
3.1 More Than Conquerors
Verses: Romans 8:37
- In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
- Nothing can separate us from the love of God.
3.2 Resisting the Devil
Verses: James 4:7
- Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
3.3 Greater is He
Verses: 1 John 4:4
- You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
- We have the power of the Spirit within us.
