1. Redemption Through Blood

  • Through the blood of Jesus, we obtain forgiveness for our sins.
  • Redemption implies a release from bondage, purchased by a price.
  • His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

  • The Old Testament law required blood sacrifices for atonement.
  • Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.

  • We overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
  • The blood of Jesus is a powerful weapon against spiritual forces.
  • We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

3.2 Access to God

  • The blood of Jesus purges our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
  • We are elect according to the foreknowledge of God, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • His blood grants us access into the holiest place.

4. The Blood Speaks

4.1 A Better Word

Verses: Hebrews 12:24; Genesis 4:10
  • The blood of Jesus speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
  • Abel's blood cried out for vengeance, but Jesus' blood cries out for mercy and forgiveness.
  • His blood speaks of reconciliation and peace.

4.2 Protection and Preservation

Verses: Exodus 12:13; 1 Peter 1:19
  • The blood of the Passover lamb protected the Israelites from the destroying angel.
  • We are redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
  • His blood provides a covering and preserves us from judgment.
