1. The Creation Account

1.1 The Power of God's Word

  • God spoke creation into existence (Psalm 33:6,9).
  • God is the source of all life and order.
  • Creation reveals God's power and glory (Romans 1:20).

1.2 Humanity in God's Image

  • God created humanity in His image, male and female (Genesis 5:2).
  • Humanity was given dominion over creation.
  • The image of God reflects God's attributes, such as love, righteousness, and intellect.

2. Sin and Redemption

2.1 The Fall of Humanity

  • Sin entered the world through disobedience.
  • Sin brought separation from God and corruption to creation.

2.2 The Promise of Redemption

  • God tested Abraham's faith by commanding him to offer Isaac as a sacrifice.
  • Abraham demonstrated his faith by his willingness to obey.
  • God provided a ram as a substitute sacrifice, foreshadowing the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
