In Christ We Know the Father
This study explores the profound truth that the one God, the Father, is fully revealed and known through Jesus Christ. We will delve into the identity of Jesus as the manifestation of God in flesh, and how through Him, we gain intimate access and understanding of the Almighty.
1. The Identity of Jesus: God Manifest in Flesh
1.1 Jesus is the Incarnate God

- The Word, who was God, became flesh and dwelt among us, revealing the divine nature.
- Jesus is not merely a prophet or a created being, but God Himself veiled in humanity.

- In Jesus Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, meaning the entirety of God's being resides in Him.
- When we see Jesus, we are seeing the Father, for the Father is in Him and He is in the Father.

- There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.

2. Jesus: The Full Revelation of the Father
2.1 Seeing Jesus is Seeing the Father

- Jesus explicitly stated that anyone who has seen Him has seen the Father, leaving no room for a separate, unseen deity.
- He is the express image of God's person, perfectly reflecting the Father's character and nature.
- The Father's attributes, love, power, and holiness are perfectly displayed in Jesus.
2.2 The Fullness of God in Christ

- It pleased the Father that in Jesus all the fullness should dwell, making Him the complete embodiment of God.
- No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

2.3 Jesus' Words are the Father's Words

3. Knowing God Personally Through Christ
3.1 Access to the Father Through Jesus

- Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Him.
- Through Him, we have access by one Spirit to the Father, establishing a direct connection.
- His flesh, torn on the cross, opened a new and living way for us to draw near to God.
3.2 Intimate Relationship with God

- Eternal life is to know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, implying a personal, experiential knowledge.
- He who denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
- Because we are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out, 'Abba, Father!'
3.3 Jesus as Our Advocate and Mediator

- If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous, who intercedes on our behalf.

4. The Spirit of Christ: The Indwelling Presence of God
4.1 The Spirit of Christ is the Spirit of God

- If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His; but if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

4.2 Indwelling Presence of God

4.3 Empowerment for Godly Living
