1. The Nature of the Lake of Fire

  • It represents a final, irreversible state of suffering.

2. Who is Cast into the Lake of Fire?

  • This signifies the ultimate defeat of evil forces.

  • Cowards, unbelievers, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars.
  • Those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • They will suffer everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.

3. The Justice and Sovereignty of God

3.1 God's Righteous Judgment

  • God is a righteous judge who will render to every man according to his deeds.
  • It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
  • Vengeance belongs to the Lord; He will repay.

  • There is no God else beside Him, a just God and a Saviour.
  • The Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment unto the Son.
  • God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man whom He has ordained.

  • He who does not believe is condemned already.
  • He who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

4.1 The Path to Salvation

  • Repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  • He who believes and is baptized will be saved.

4.2 Repentance, Baptism in Jesus' Name, and Receiving the Spirit

  • This is the New Testament pattern for salvation.
  • Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is essential for the remission of sins.
  • Receiving the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues is part of the new birth experience.

  • Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.
