1. The Nature of God: Righteous and Just

1.1 God's Singular Identity as the Source of All Righteousness

  • There is one God, the sole source of all righteousness and justice.
  • This one God manifested Himself in the flesh as Jesus Christ, our righteous Savior.
  • His righteousness is inherent, perfect, and the ultimate standard for all creation.

1.2 God's Unchanging Justice

  • God's justice is perfect and unwavering.
  • He judges impartially, without favoritism.
  • His justice is foundational to His throne and character.

2. Humanity's Need for God's Righteousness

2.1 The Problem of Sin and Unrighteousness

  • All humanity has sinned and fallen short of God's glory.
  • No one is righteous on their own merit.
  • Sin separates us from a holy and just God.

2.2 God's Provision for Righteousness

  • Righteousness is a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • We are made righteous in Him, not by our own works.

  • We are to defend the oppressed and seek justice for the vulnerable.

  • The Spirit enables us to fulfill the righteous requirements of God's law.

4.1 The Return of Christ and Final Judgment

  • Every person will give an account before Him.

  • God promises new heavens and a new earth where righteousness dwells.
  • In His eternal kingdom, there will be no more sin, sorrow, or injustice.
  • Believers will dwell with the Lord in perfect righteousness forever.
